An IED of unknown origin placed under a car exploded in Jarablos city in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on April 27, 2021, with the blast quickly followed by the explosion of another bomb of unknown origin, this one affixed to a motorcycle whose origin is also unknown, in the same location. The two explosions resulted in the death of an eight-year-old child, named as Muhammad Amrou, and the injury of 20 other civilians, in addition to causing material damages in the area where the explosions took place. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians, and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
