A man, named as Saiban Saleh Ibrahim Osman, from Bani Shkafti village which is administratively a part of al Malekiya city in the northwestern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was shot dead on March 20, 2021, by Syrian Democratic Forces’ personnel as he was passing through a checkpoint in al Jaroudiya village in the northwest of the governorate, with the SDF opening fire under the pretext that he had not stopped at the checkpoint.
SNHR notes that the Syrian Democratic Forces have committed another violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
