The body of a 22-year-old Iraqi refugee civilian, named as Saif Emad Muhammad, who was living in al Hawl IDP Camp in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was discovered by local families in Section One in the Camp on March 3, 2021 bearing signs of gunshot wounds.

Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
