The body of a 27-year-old man, named as Musa Ali al Atiyah al Sabil, who had been displaced from Hajin city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was discovered on January 7, 2021 by local families inside a tent in Section Five of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate. He had been killed with a sharp implement.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for killing, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, increasing the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
