A man named as Ahmad Eid al Muhsen, from Ajaja village which is administratively a part of al Shaddadi area in the southern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was arrested by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel during a raid on his home in the village on December 17, 2020, and taken to a detention center in al Shaddadi city.
SNHR notes that no member of Ahmad’s family was informed of his arrest, with his phone being confiscated, preventing him from contacting his family. SNHR fears that he will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of the individuals detained in Syria.
