A man from Kafranbel city in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate, named as Faisal Abdul Razzaq al Bayyoush, a director of the Logistics Office at the Union of Revolutionary Bureaus, was arrested by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham personnel on December 16, 2020, while he was in the Radio Fresh office in Salqin city in the governorate’s western suburbs. He was detained over his criticism of a member of the local council in Kafranbel city on his Facebook account and taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that no member of Faisal’s family was informed of his arrest, with his phone being confiscated, preventing him from contacting his family. SNHR fears that he will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of the individuals detained in Syria.
