A 63-year-old Yazidi civilian, named as Nouri Jammou Omar Sharaf, was shot dead by unknown gunmen during a raid on his home in Shadir village which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on August 13, 2020. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks which target civilians and all such indiscriminate killings and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control and to conduct investigation and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition toward democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
