The body of Mahmoud Bdaiwi al Zu’bi was discovered in Tafas city in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate on August 2, 2020, bearing signs of gunshot wounds. The area is controlled by Syrian regime forces. SNHR has been unable to identify the party responsible for Mahmoud’s death up to the time of writing. Although the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, the Syrian regime has not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of regime forces’ involvement in the operation.
