The information office of executive council of self-administration of Syrian Democratic forces issued a decision on May 10, 2020, to stop the journalist Vivian Fattah, the Kurdish speaking reporter of RUDAW TV, for two months from practicing a media activity for using the term “dead” instead of “martyrs” in one of the Its reports.

Vivian Fattah, born in 1992, is a reporter and news presenter at RUDAW TV, has a bachelor degree of Psychology at al Ba’ath University in Homs city. On April 2018, she started her job as a news and program presenter and field reporter. 

SNHR has systematically and repeatedly monitored the restrictions apply by self-administration on freedom of expression and press in al Jazeera Syrian, area controlled by SDF. SNHR condemns this suspension, and we call for stopping all forms of restrictions on media work in Syria by all the dominant forces.
