The children , siblings Abdul Razzaq Ahmed Kash (13) and Fatima Ahmed Kash (9), from Deir al-Gharbi in the countryside of Maarat al-Numan City in Eastern Idlib Governorate, were injured wjem a landmine detonated in the town, which is under the control of the transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights is actively working to gather testimonies from witnesses to obtain further details about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to take full responsibility for protecting civilians in their territories by identifying and removing landmines. Over the years, we have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries caused by mine explosions, which continue to pose a grave threat to the population—especially children.
