On March 26, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as 37-year-old Yahya Mutea Zidan from Karm Shumshum neighborhood in Homs city, was found bearing gunshot wounds at the forensics department in al-Walid Hospital in Homs city. Yahya’s body was found about 19 days after he had been abducted from his house in Karm Shumshum neighborhood by unidentified gunmen on March 7, 2025. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Yahya’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
