A man, identified as 44-year-old Hassan Sa’adat from Kherbet al-Akrad village in western rural Homs governorate who worked at a car wash, was shot dead on March 19, 2025, by unidentified gunmen near Kherbet al-Akrad village while attempting to irregularly pass the Syrian-Lebanese borders. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas, investigate this incident, and make the findings available to the public.
