On February 28, 2025, unidentified gunmen stormed the Alawite shrine of Mohammad al-Ajami in Tal Sekken village in western rural Hama governorate. The gunmen vandalized the place and broke its contents. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We condemn the desecration of the shrine, and call on the controlling forces to launch an investigation into the incident and hold those responsible to account.
