Seven killed in a massacre caused by explosion of war remnants of unidentified source in E. Idlib, February 20, 2025

On February 20, 2025, an explosion; caused by projectiles, landmines, and war remnants of unidentified source; killed seven civilians, including two women and one child, in an initial estimate, inside a house in al-Nayrab town in eastern rural Idlib governorate. The house was also completely destroyed and a number of nearby houses were damaged. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas.
