On February 10, 2025, the bodies of two siblings, identified as 26-year-old Mohammad and 25-year-old Amjad Samer Shdoud from Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Homs city, were found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in an agricultural land near Morek city in northern rural Hama governorate. The two were abducted five days earlier, on February 5, 2025, by unidentified gunmen from Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for the two siblings’ deaths as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
