Two men, identified as Hasan Kusa and Fadi Shamlas both from Latakia city, were killed on February 6, 2025, amid clashes between personnel form the General Security Directorate and unidentified gunmen in Latakia city’s al-Da’tour neighborhood. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to determine which of the two warring parties was responsible for the two men’s deaths. We condemn what happened. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in holding the perpetrators accountable.
