On January 9, the dead body of a man, identified as Mohammad Trad ak-Qannawi from Deir Hafer town in eastern rural Aleppo governorate was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents near al-Kiyariya village to the north of Deir Hafer town. His car was also found burned. Mohammad’s body was found a day after he had been taken with his car by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel. The area is under the control of the SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify which party is responsible for Mohammad’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
