On November 24, 2024, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) used a rocket launcher stationed in Fafin village in northern Aleppo governorate to fire multiple rockets targeting the al-Bab city’s southern neighborhood in eastern rural Aleppo. The attack killed two local men, identified as Assad Zinou and Abdul Qader al-Zaleq, while 15 civilian others were wounded, including five children and three women. In addition, the rockets struck al-Kheirat Mosque, partially destroying its building and heavily damaging its interior furnishing, as well as al-Turk Mosque and Sheikh al-Mujahdin School, which both sustained slight damages, and the Gas Factory, with its facilities partially destroyed, while a number of cars and gas cylinders were moderately damaged. The area targeted is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this attack, SDF has unequivocally violated UN Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254, which prohibit indiscriminate attacks.
The SDF has also violated the rules of international humanitarian law on distinguishing between civilians and members, which only aims to spread panic among civilians.
