On November 16, 2024, the body of a man, identified as Ali Zattam al-Halqi from Jasim city in northern rural Daraa governorate who worked in agriculture, was found bearing gunshot wounds by locals on the Damascus-Daraa international highway near Jbab town in northern Daraa governorate. Ali was abducted the day before, November 15, 2024, from his farm in western Jasim city by unidentified gunmen who also stole his Kia K2700 car. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Ali is a civilian who had never been involved with any military formation.
SNHR has not yet been able to identify Ali’s killers as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
