Two boys, identified as nine-year-old Fadel Yassin from Marea city in eastern Aleppo governorate and 12-year-old Abdul Razzaq Wahhab from Idlib governorate, were injured on August 3, 2024, by the explosion of a war remnant of unidentified source that denotated while they were playing in al-Swamea area near Marea city. They were then transferred to a hospital for treatment. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
