A man, identified as Eyad Hussein al-Khatib from al-M’alqa village in western rural Idlib governorate, was killed, while his son Mohammad injured, on June 13, 2024, by the explosion of a war remnant of as yet unidentified source in front of their tent in Southern Rural Aleppo Camp near Darkoush city in western Idlib governorate. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
