A boy, identified as 10-year-old Mohammad Atta Allah, was injured on June 2, 2024, by the explosion of a war remnant of as yet unidentified source in al-Sena’a neighborhood in his home city of Deir Ez-Zour. Mohammad was forced to have his left-hand fingers amputated due to his injuries. He was transferred to the Medical Complex in the city for treatment. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants still pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and war remnants, calling for securing special equipment to help civilians safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
