A woman, identified as Hanaa al-Ismail from Sfuhin village in southern rural Idlib governorate, died on May 12, 2024, of wounds sustained on April 10, 2024, in a fire, caused by the explosion of a fuel container, that broke out in her tent in al-Bashir IDPs Camp near Kelli village in northern Idlib governorate. Hanaa was transferred to a hospital in Türkey for treatment, but subsequently succumbed to her injuries and died. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) calls on international relief organizations to meet the IDP camps’ urgent basic needs, and to supply the camps’ administration with additional tents for emergencies.
