A man, identified as 49-year-old Khalaf al-Batma from Eeb village in al-Laja area in eastern rural Daraa governorate, was shot dead on February 25, 2024, by gunmen we have not yet been able to identify while he was with another individual in Ghasm village, also in eastern Daraa governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Khalaf was a civilian who has never been involved with any military formation, although he had worked as a drug-dealer.
