On November 9, 2023, the body of a man, identified as 50-year-old Ziad Ghazi al-Imarin from Nawa city in western rural Daraa governorate, was found, bearing signs of torture and gunshot wounds, by local residents near Odwan town in western rural Daraa governorate. Ziad had been missing for two days when his body was found.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able to identify Ziad’s killers as of this writing. The controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying his killers.
