An unidentified man was killed by the explosion of a motorbike bomb whose source we have so far been unable to identify on October 9, 2023. The bombing, which also injured three civilians including a child, occurred at a crossroads in al-Jabal Camp in Jarables city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. Some reports suggested that the motorbike’s driver was trying to park the motorbike in a specific location before blowing it up.

The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA). The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate more eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident. We condemn all bombings that target civilians and cause such senseless deaths. We call on the SNA, namely the controlling forces in the area, to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the findings of the investigation known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
