On September 2, 2023, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) took over the dispensary in al-Harijiya town in northern Deir Ez-Zour governorate and repurposed it as a military facility. It should be noted that this dispensary is one of the most vital medical facilities in the area of northern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate, as it contains modern medical equipment and offers free healthcare for all residents of the northern areas.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has also documented the SDF shutting down a number of other medical facilities and dispensaries as part of a curfew being imposed as clashes continue between the SDF and the Arab tribes. The following facilities have been shut down:
1- Al-Sour Hospital
2- Al-Sour Dispensary
3- Al-Nour Hospital in al-Shahil
4- Al-Hariji Dispensary
5- Al-Harijiya Dispensary.

Those new developments come amid ongoing clashes between the SDF and Deir Ez-Zour Military Council backed by Arab tribes, which broke out on August 29, 2023.

SNHR condemns all killings and violations no matter which party is responsible. We call for bringing an immediate end to the fighting to ensure the safety of civilians in the area, and to prevent any further damage to civilian objects.
