On April 28, 2023, a fire broke out in Samidoun IDPs Camp in Heir Jamous village in the suburbs of Salqin City in the northwestern suburbs of Idlib governorate. Although no casualties were documented, the fire, caused by a defective oven, completely destroyed four tents and partially burned two others, all of which had been housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) from al-Kastan village in the suburbs of Jisr al-Shoghour.
