The body of 38-year-old Shadi Muhammad al Karaki from Tafas city in western Daraa governorate, who had agreed a settlement agreement with the Syrian regime previously, was found by residents on the road between Seyda town and al Ghariya al Gharbiya village in eastern Daraa suburbs on September 24, 2022, bearing torture marks and gunshot wounds. The area is controlled by Syrian regime forces.

SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for his death. Although the controlling forces are responsible for finding and punishing the perpetrators of such crimes, they haven’t launched any investigation into this case, which raises suspicions of their involvement in this killing.
