A 48-year-old man from Fleita village in western Damascus suburbs governorate, Kayed Fayez Rashq, was a resident of an IDPs camp in Arsal in Lebanon, and had returned to his village after agreeing to a security settlement with the Syrian regime. Kayed was shot and killed by members of the 4th Division of the Syrian regime forces as he passed a checkpoint in al Mashkouna region near Fleita village on August 13, 2022.
SNHR notes that through this killing, the Syrian regime forces have violated the international human rights law, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.
