A girl born in 2008, Fatima Ref’at Hasan, from Barad village in the southern suburbs of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was abducted by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel on July 5, 2022, in Tal Ref’at city in northern Aleppo governorate, were she lives, for conscription, and taken to a recruitment center.

SNHR notes that the girl’s parents have not been informed of her whereabouts, and she hasn’t been allowed to contact her family, who are also forbidden from visiting her. We fear she may be forced to participate directly or indirectly in military operations, and confirm that around 197 children are still conscripted in Syrian Democratic Forces recruitment camps.
