The body of former media activist Mahmoud Bakkour, from Talbisa city north of Homs governorate, who worked as a reporter for Syria TV in the suburbs of Homs, was found at his home in Talbisa city on February 26, 2022 bearing gunshot wounds.
Talbisa city is under the control of Syrian regime forces, SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for the murder. Although the controlling forces are obligated to identify the perpetrators, the controlling forces in the region haven’t opened any investigation into the killing, which raises the suspicion of their involvement in the crime.
