An IED which unidentified assailants attached to a car owned by Khalil Haj Oso, the local council leader in Rajo town near Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, exploded on January 30, 2022,  severely wounding Mr. Oso’s young son, and leading to the loss of one of his legs, as well as damaging the vehicle.
SNHR notes that the explosion occurred in front of Mr. Oso’s home in Rajo town.
SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses and survivors for more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on the controlling forces to assume their responsibility for protecting the civilian population in areas under their control and to launch an investigation into the incident and reveal its conclusions to the public. There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political process towards democracy according to a set timetable.
