On April 7, 2025, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) used a rocket launcher to fire rockets at Rasm al-Harmal village (al-Imam) to the south of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. Some of the rockets struck residential houses, killing one local woman, identified as Hajja Ahmad al-Abayed, while a number of houses were partially destroyed, according to local reliable sources. The area targeted is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) condemns this attack, which led to the death of a civilian. Through this attack, SDF violated international humanitarian law, particularly the principles of distinction and proportionality, which prohibit indiscriminate or disproportionate attacks that endanger the lives of civilians. Moreover, this attack falls within a pattern of repeated violations that contribute to destabilizing security and spreading fear among the population.

SNHR stresses the need to open an immediate and independent investigation into the incident, hold those responsible accountable, compensate the victims, and ensure that such violations are not repeated in the future.
