Two men, identified as Munther Gzai al-Awad and Khalaf Mahmoud al-Faraj, were shot dead on March 19, 2025, by unidentified gunmen on the public road in al-Majawda town in the rural areas of al-Boukamal city in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas, investigate this incident, and make the findings available to the public.
