On February 18, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as 35-year-old Wasim Abdul Aziz Rezq from al-Qalayea (al-Ziadiya) village in rural Latakia governorate who worked as a taxi driver, was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents near the Ras al-Ein triangle at the entrance of Jabla city in rural Latakia governorate. The area is under the control of the current translation authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Wasim’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
