On February 14, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as 65-year-old Abdullah Ahmad al-Hussein from Um al-Amd village in eastern rural Hama governorate who worked as a merchant, was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in Tal Omari village in northeastern rural Homs governorate. Abdullah had been abducted on the same day by unidentified gunmen in Um al-Amd village. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Abdullah’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
