On February 13, 2025, the bodies of two men, identified as Mohammad Hamdi Alolou and Yahya Abdul Qader Kerdou both from Ma’aret Misreen town in northern rural Idlib governorate, were found buried and bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in an old Arabian house in Hafir village in Rural Damascus governorate. The two had gone missing about two weeks earlier on January 31, 2025. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Mohammad’s and Yahya’s deaths as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying their killers.
