Two men, identified as 35-year-old Hayel Fayyad al-Omari and 37-year-old Fawzi Mohammad Hussein al-Mlah al-Jbara both form Tadmur city in eastern rural Homs governorate, were killed in February 12, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source in Jabal al-Amour district to the west of Tadmur city. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
