A man, identified as Ahmad Mohammad Shubak from Kafrnaya town in northern rural Aleppo governorate, born in 1980, was killed on February 10, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source while disarming landmines on the outskirts of Kafrnaya town. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
