On January 29, 2025, a drone believed to be operated by Turkish forces fired a rocket at a house in Ein al-Arab city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, killing two civilians, identified as Azad Ali Mohammad and Shirou Mashid from Halnaj village in the rural areas of Ein al-Arab and injuring one another woman. The area targeted is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Turkish forces have violated international humanitarian law by killing civilians through this indiscriminate or deliberate bombardment, as they have failed to distinguish between civilians and fighters.
