On January 25, 2025, a man, identified as Wasim al-Ali from al-Ghansla village in rural Tartus governorate, was shot and killed, while another was shot and injured, by unidentified gunmen from a passing motorbike in al-Muruj neighborhood in Banyas city in rural Tartus governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
