On January 16, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as Haytham Faysal al-Mohammad from Bwidiyt al-Rayhaniya (administratively a part of al-Makhram al-Fuqani district) in rural Homs governorate, was found  bearing gunshot wounds by local residents inside an abandoned house in Deir Ba’lba neighborhood in Homs city. Ahmad had gone missing in Deir Ba’lba neighborhood one day before the dead body was found. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Haytham’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
