A man, identified as Mohammad Ashraf al-Turkmani from al-Hrak city in eastern rural Daraa governorate who worked as a motorcycle repairman, was shot dead on January 16, 2025, by unidentified gunmen in al-Hrak city. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Mohammad is a civilian who had never been involved with any military formation.
SNHR is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas, investigate this incident, and make the findings available to the public.
