On January 15, 2025, the dead body of a woman, identified as 55-year-old Adla Hussein al-Nasser from Kherbt Khaled village in the southeastern rural areas of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was found by local residents near Tishreen Dam in eastern rural Aleppo governorate after she had been killed by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
