On January 11, 2024, a rocket war remnant of unidentified source exploded in Abu Taltal village in the rural areas of al-Bab city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate exploded, killing two men, identified as Hussein al-Ibrahim al-Haj Mawwas and Mahmoud Saleh al-Abboud from eastern rural Aleppo governorate who were born in 1993 and 1983 respectively. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
