On January 12, 2025, the body of a pharmacist, identified as Qusay Hamza Abboud from Qarfis village in southern rural Latakia governorate, was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in an agricultural land in al-Sen district in southern Latakia governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify which party is responsible for Qusay’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
