On January 11, 2025, the body of a man, identified as 24-year-old Abdullah Hosam al-Naem from al-Nuzha neighborhood in Homs city, was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in Karm al-Zaitoun neighborhood in Homs city. Abdullah’s body was found after he had been abducted by unidentified gunmen in from in front of his house in al-Nuzha neighborhood two days earlier, January 9, 2025. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify which party is responsible for Abdullah’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
