Two men, identified as Abdul Aziz Yousef al-Kedrou and Mohammad Shawwakh al-Mohammad who were members of a landmine squad with the Syrian National Army (SNA), were killed on January 7, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source while disarming landmines in Harbal village in northern rural Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
