A man and his son, identified respectively as Ahmad al-Kamel al-Eisa and Subhi, from al-Bawwabiya village in southern rural Aleppo governorate were killed on January 7, 2025, by a landmine of unidentified source near al-Talhiya village in eastern rural Idlib governorate while heading for their agricultural lands. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
